realtors worth knowing

Peter has gone to Whistler for the British Columbia Real Estate Board meetings. I thought I was going to have a quiet week while he was away. Get the listings up on web page, do some sewing, weed some garden, pick and jam the strawberries. Maybe even get the books caught up. The reality however, is quite different. I have spent the last two days either on the phone or running around town. By the end of the day I am totally wired. I just get going on one thing and the phone rings about something else. It is a good thing I had all those years as a mother to practice multi-tasking. By five oclock this afternoon I was ready to flush both telephones down the toilet. Instead I drove to Raleigh to show a house. The phone even rang while I was driving - and I answered it! I got to practice my driving and talking at the same time. (a skill all good realtors must excell at) I realized after I hung up that I was driving on autopilot - I didn't even know what part of the road I was on. The drive did calm me down though and the phone (touch wood) hasn't rung in the hour and half I have been home.
The house I showed in Raleigh is very nice looking. It sits on the frontage road between the highway and the railway track. It is only a couple years old but is surrounded by homes that are many decades older. It is a classic example of overbuilding. If you plan to sell your house you don't want to have the best home in the neighbourhood. While your property is increasing the value of your neighbours homes, theirs is decreasing the value of yours. It has a lovely yard, fruit trees, gardens, pool and veranda and patio. It has a two car garage and a seperate shop wired for power tools. The house is styrofoam and concrete brick. Very soundproof. The house is modern and tasteful It has only two problems. The floors are laminate instead of hardwood and there are almost no windows upstairs. It has false dormer windows. Whoever heard of such a thing.
I don't think they will buy this one. I had such great hopes for it when I saw the listing. But I can't blame them, I wouldn't buy it either.
