still crazy

Peter is still away, and life is still crazy.  The affordabily of housing is taking a serious hit.  I read today that a person has to make $114,000 a year to afford the average Canadian  house.  That is pretty mind blowing.  That is why there is such desperation at the bottom of the market.  We just sold a Sandpiper Condo at a rather incredible price considering previous sales, in just one day.  There is a new listing on today at $154,000.  I bet that by tomorrow it is sold.   It's frustrating because I have a client I would like to show it to, but I can't get a hold of her.  By the time she phones me tonight it will be too late.  All this desperation means that there is a lot of speculative pricing going on.  Properties listed at a high price hoping that someone will pay it.  As soon as someone does, the whole market moves up a notch.  so............still crazy

This is why we aren't going to own anything in Vancouver. Even for the bottom of the market houses, I would have to make more than Kev and put every cent of it into the mortgage as well as the amount from his income that currently goes to our housing.
